Announcement: 2025 Vegan Osechi Pre-orders
We are delighted to announce that pre-orders for our plant-based osechi are now open. Osechi is a special cuisine to celebrate the seasonal transition and welcome the New Year. On New Year's Day, it is customary to offer osechi to the gods while praying for good health, bountiful harvests, and prosperity for future generations.
Generally, osechi includes chicken, seafood, and processed foods alongside vegetable dishes. At Chakura, however, we focus on traditional Japanese vegetable dishes, balanced with tofu and soy-based ingredients, to create osechi that is enjoyable for those following a plant-based or Oriental vegetarian diet.
We also incorporate familiar international vegetarian dishes, aiming to invite more people to experience Japanese traditional culture. Through this fusion of tradition and innovation, we bring forth a new era of osechi cuisine.
We carefully select ingredients from nature’s bounty, sourcing them from local mountains, seas, and fields, and complement them with time-honoured seasonings matured over time and expertly crafted condiments.
For cooking, we use natural spring water and groundwater, including in our broth preparation, to ensure the highest quality.
Plant-based Osechi
- Single-tier box (21 cm × 21 cm): Serves approximately 2 people – ¥23,760 (¥22,000 pre-tax)
- Two-tier box: Serves approximately 3–4 people – ¥43,200 (¥40,000 pre-tax)
Oriental Vegetarian Osechi (Shojin / Free of alliums)
- Single-tier box (21 cm × 21 cm): Serves approximately 2 people – ¥26,136 (¥24,200 pre-tax)
- Two-tier box: Serves approximately 3–4 people – ¥47,520 (¥44,000 pre-tax)
